Terms of service
These are the rules for using PonchoGuard. We have written them in plain English. By using PonchoGuard you agree to them.
Effective October 2, 2026. PonchoGuard is a service of G3NO Systems LLC ("we", "us").
1. What PonchoGuard is
PonchoGuard helps families spot scams. It checks suspicious messages and quotes and gives an opinion (Scam, Suspicious or Looks OK) with a reason and a next step. It lets a parent ask a family member to Cosign before money moves. On Windows, it notices when a remote-access tool starts and asks whether that was expected.
2. What PonchoGuard is not
- PonchoGuard is careful, not perfect. Its verdicts are opinions based on patterns. It can miss a scam, and it can flag a real message. It never promises that a message, caller, company or payment is legitimate.
- It is not a bank, a lawyer, the police or a financial advisor. If you have lost money, call your bank using the number on your card and report it to the authorities. See what to do if you have been scammed.
- It never blocks anything. A Cosign request, a pause screen or a verdict is advice. The person using the device always has the final say, and is responsible for their own decisions.
- Price ranges in a quote check are general estimates from public cost guides, not an appraisal of any specific job.
3. Who may use it
You must be 18 or older to create an account. A family circle is set up by an account holder, who adds a protected parent and family helpers. By adding someone you confirm that they have agreed to be part of the circle. Each person confirms their own phone number with a 6-digit code before receiving any texts.
4. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details to yourself.
- Only add people to a circle who know about it and agree. PonchoGuard is built on the parent's consent, not on watching someone secretly.
- Do not use PonchoGuard to harass, monitor or control another adult against their wishes, to send spam, or to break any law.
- Do not try to break into, overload or reverse engineer the service.
5. PonchoGuard for Windows
The Windows Guard watches for remote-access tools and can end such a session when you choose "End it". Install it only on computers you own or are allowed to manage. Add the remote tools your family legitimately uses to the trusted-helper list, or they will be flagged. Ending a remote session may interrupt work in progress; that is your choice, not ours.
6. Plans, billing and refunds
- Prices and what each plan includes are shown on our website. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account or by emailing us; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Founding Family pre-orders are fully refundable if PonchoGuard does not launch, and within 30 days of launch for any reason.
- If we raise a price, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you.
7. Text messaging
PonchoGuard sends text messages: replies to messages you check, family alerts and Cosign requests. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our privacy policy explains how phone numbers are used and that they are never shared for marketing.
8. Your content
Messages, quotes and photos you submit stay yours. You give us permission to process them to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. Message text is deleted after 30 days.
9. Changes to the service
PonchoGuard is new and will change. We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the service, we will give paying customers at least 30 days' notice and refund any unused prepaid time.
10. Limits on our liability
PonchoGuard is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, G3NO Systems LLC is not liable for money lost to a scam, for a missed or mistaken verdict, for an interrupted remote session, or for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States. If we have a disagreement, contact us first at support@ponchoguard.com and we will try to sort it out within 30 days before either of us goes further.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new effective date and email account holders about important changes before they take effect.
