Daily check-in calls

PonchoGuard calls your parent each day. They press 1 if they are okay, or 2 to ask the family to call.

Turn them on

  1. Add your parent's phone first. See The phone line.
  2. In the family dashboard, open the Family tab. Under the phone, find Calls from PonchoGuard.
  3. Choose Call each day to check in.
  4. Pick the Time of the call, the Time zone and the Days. Add a short Greeting if you like.
  5. Choose who gets alerts, then press Save check-in settings.

What your parent hears

  • Press 1 if you are doing okay.
  • Press 2 if you would like your family to call you.
  • Press 9 to pause these calls.

No call goes out until your parent agrees by pressing 1. If they press 9, the calls pause and the family is told. A helper can press Resume calls, and the next call asks again.

If nobody answers

PonchoGuard tries again after 15 minutes, 3 tries in all, and never after 9 PM. Then the family gets a message: they did not answer the check-in, and you may want to call. No voicemail is left.

Which plans include it

Included with Landline Guard. Family + PC Guard includes 1 phone. On Family it is an add-on: press Add daily check-in calls. See Plans and billing.
