Troubleshooting

Sign-in code, invite link opens the web, no notices, or helper control not working.

The sign-in email or code did not come

  1. Wait a minute, then look in the spam or junk folder for an email from PonchoGuard.
  2. Check the email address for typos and try again.
  3. In the app, type the 6-digit code from the newest email. On the web, press the sign-in link in the email. It works once, for one hour.

Never read a sign-in code to anyone, even family. PonchoGuard never asks for it.

The invite link opens the web, not the app

  1. That is expected. Finish joining in the web browser: type your email, open the sign-in email and press Join this family.
  2. Then open the PonchoGuard app and sign in with the same email.
  3. If the app says "Open your family's invite link first", the invite was not finished yet. Ask your helper for a new link if it is older than 7 days.

No notices

  1. Android: in PonchoGuard, open Settings, then Notifications, and turn them on.
  2. iPhone: open Settings, then Notifications. It opens the iPhone's Settings, where you turn on notifications for PonchoGuard.
  3. Web: in the family dashboard, open Settings, then Notifications, and press Turn on notices here. On an iPhone, add PonchoGuard to the Home Screen first.
  4. Check Quiet hours in the same place. Email still works if notices are off.

The helper cannot tap or type on the phone

  1. Control works only from an Android phone or PonchoGuard for Windows. A share from an iPhone or a web browser is view-only.
  2. Check that PonchoGuard control is switched on. See Let a helper control the phone.
  3. If the switch is on but control still does not work, turn it Off and On again.
  4. The parent must answer Yes each time. No answer means no.
